The objective was to remove the existing polyurethane sealant which had failed and replace it with Dymonic 100. This included expansion joints, penetrations and saw cuts. There is approximately 2000 lineal metres at this stage to be replaced.
The existing sealant was removed and the joints were ground back with a wire brush attachment on a hand grinder. The joints were then vacuumed to remove any excess dust. As these were topping slabs over a structural slab, there was some moisture present at the time of installation.
The replacement of the sealant went back to Watpac as a part of their defects on the project and due to the success of the Dymonic 100, Watpac have now chosen to use the Spectrum 2 to solve another problem on the site.
