1. How long have you been involved in the construction and building products industry?
I've been actively engaged in the building and construction products sector for the past 14 years. It's been a rewarding journey, and I've gained valuable experience along the way.
2. As Customer Service Manager, what is the most important aspect of your role in Tremco CPG Australia and why?
As the CS Manager my main focus is ensuring that our customers are getting the best service from our team. As a business we want to be known for giving exceptional customer service. This means ensuring that our CS Team is trained in our internal systems and procedures as well as a basic knowledge of products so that we are able to assist with most enquiries. The more positive an experience for the customer the more likely they are to continue to build a relationship with us.
3. What’s the most useful advice you’ve received in your career?
Listen – it’s the simplest thing we can do but also one of the hardest. We all want to believe that we know what’s best and sometimes we might but no one is correct 100% of the time. In my experience the ‘how’ we get to an outcome doesn’t really matter to someone but they do want to feel like they have been given the chance to voice their thoughts and that its been heard. Listening to difference perspectives can only help us grow not only as an individual but as a business.
4. When looking to hire new staff, what is the skill or quality you look for?
A positive attitude! Experience is great and helps with the training but it comes with time. Somone with the right attitude, who wants to be there isn’t something that can be taught.
5. The customer service team deal with Tremco CPG’s full product portfolio, is there a particular product that interests you most and why?
I would have to say our Civil range of products interests me most (waterstops, concrete repair, curing etc), and I think its because I’ve always found it easier to understand. I think with our waterproofing and flooring products there are different options or ways to do things and it can be a bit overwhelming.
